Went to the doctor and immediately regretted it because she ordered bloodwork and an EKG and urinalysis and I have to find somewhere to book a hearing test after I figure out how my insurance even works these days even though she prefaced it all by saying that there was a good chance the tinnitus could just prove to be idiopathic in the end regardless and uuuuuugh I hate this. Feels like I've wasted half of my week off dealing with this, although it really wasn't that much time in the grand scheme of things, and considering I spent the entire night after having my blood drawn having another weird bout of anxiety centred around my veins, ruling out some sort of thyroid thing is probably a good idea. Like, I've always had a phobia of needles, but not AFTER the fact!
We'll see. For now, it's been SO cold and has snowed SO much and mom is feeling SO shitty after her radiation that we bailed on all our plans for today and just watched Hundreds of Beavers and the Royal Rumble. I have zero interest in modern WWE and as long as the Rumble is so easy to watch, just streaming right there on the main page of Netflix, I will be happy to use it as a yearly reminder of all the reasons why that is. It's all just so... glossy, I wanna rub just a little bit of dirt all over everything on my screen when I'm watching it. Plus the way you have to wait a year in between matches for them to actually get to the wrestling, plus the wonky booking, plus the simple moral ickiness of supporting such a fucked up company with so many horrendous accusations behind it... I'm good! Still a fun enough show, though. Got to see all my beloveds who have jumped ship for the Fed of late, your Giulias and your Motor City Machine Guns and whatnot, my mom got to be excited about John Cena and discover how hot Roman Reigns is, my brother got to wander by and explain who Speed is, good times.
Tomorrow: all the stuff we didn't do today, namely visiting my grandmother and going to see Companion. Also I picked up the three months of Mubi for $1 promo, so hopefully that will help me kickstart my new year's resolution to watch more movies, since I decidedly did not do that in January.
