the all out toronto diaries 2/10

Came home last night to the dog's collar sitting sadly on the entrance table. Sad day all around! Apparently the procedure went really well, though, she was happy and calm (after a bit of anxiety in the van) and got to eat lots of garbage that she normally was not allowed to touch. Probably had the best day out of all of us. Today is gloomy and cold and rainy and dark, but it's October, so hopefully the fresh start will do us all well (we lost all of our pets in three of the last four Septembers, yeesh). This is the first time in my entire life that I have not had a pet in the house, which is very odd to think about. We'll get cats again, but not for a little while, I think. Need to just... take a bit of time.

I was sort of a mental mess yesterday; spent most of it inexplicably thinking it was Wednesday, then packed all my shit up and turned off my computer at the end of the day like it was Friday? Then fell asleep at, like, 9pm and slept straight through the night, full of grief pasta. Maybe I was just overtired? Let's go, October!

A short post for the shortest match on the All Out card, REWATCH CONTINUES:

EDDIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Like 500 fucking days after he fucked up his leg on the most obviously leg-fucking spot ever done, my mad king is BACK, and he did it in front of MEEEEEEEEE. I have been fantasy booking his return at the end of every goddamn PPV for like a year now, but he was waiting for the one I was at, and that's pretty dang cool, even if it came about in a really weird and low-key fashion? I really wonder how much of the build was due to wanting to save the return pop for the PPV, wanting to get more people to buy the PPV, nerves about returning with a bigger-stakes matchup, TK wanting to prove that people would flip their shit for him even without a surprise return, etc. I feel like there were a lot of factors at play here! But Eddie's back and that's all that matter at the end of the day~

shirt forshadowing him getting involved with the Death Riders? or just Eddie being an eternal hater? TIME WILL TELL

Bryan making sure everybody knows that he was one who coined 'king of the bums' was very funny, I am enjoying him on commentary so very much and cannot wait for the day he has to share a desk with Nigel.

🌟🌟🌟, match was good! Pretty short, and these two don't have a ton of chemistry, but it was hard-hitting and fun, and Eddie hitting the exploder on such a massive dude was fucking SICK. Then they botched the ending and it sucked but WHATEVER EDDIE'S BACK, KEEP KNOCKING OFF THAT RING RUST, KING.

eddie cries, i cry, that's the rule

HOOK coming out after was a delightful surprise when the threat of Jericho still lurked (his fantastic new music really helped), and I think the New Yawk Boyz is a really clever pairing while Eddie gets his shit back together in-ring! Also immediately puts him into the Death Riders orbit, let's fucking gooooooooooo. Eddie and Orange both being back means that ALL of Yuta's former mentors are here again in some capacity, and now that Daniel's taking his shine in the DR, literally none of them give a single shit about him anymore, which is extremely funny. WHEELER YUTA, YOU ARE THE NEXT ONE DUE FOR A PATHETIC CRASH OUT, MY BOY.

Highlights!

Also this behind-the-scenes bit about his return made my heart grow three sizes, IT'S BEEN SO LONG.

Almost bought $100 worth of cute wrestling merch again but held off because of the postal strike. Then again, I've already got a few things in the wind, what's a bit more??
