[506] god made man, but a monkey supplied the glue

At work again! For one lousy day! And have a bunch of new duties! What the hell!!!

Quite busy, but yesterday was pretty chill and good (compared to some Ghost of Christmas Past bad vibes that very nearly derailed NYE, why the FUCK can't my family just be normal jfc), so 2026 is going pretty well so far. Trying to revamp my life once again. Here's to the weekend, and Wrestle Kingdom 20!

Wikipedia Sez: Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! is the debut studio album by American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in August 1978 on Warner Bros. in the North America and Virgin Records in Europe. Produced by Brian Eno, the album was recorded between October 1977 and February 1978, primarily in Cologne, West Germany.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Alternative/Indie Rock, American Punk, American Underground, New Wave, Post-Punk, Punk/New Wave, Dance-Rock

Release Date: August 28th, 1978

Prior Familiarity: Pretty low! I know their big '80s hits (and there's a Rolling Stones cover on here), but I mostly just know Mothersbaugh as a TV composer.

What I Did While Listening: Got a lot of cleaning done, because adulthood continues to be a neverending series of chores, and listening to music offers really good opportunities for them.

Verdict: Pretty fun and catchy! These guys just popped out of the music industry womb fully formed, huh?

Favourite Song: Jocko Homo kind of annoyed me the first time around, but the remastered version of the album included a live set from some anniversary concert where they just played through the entire thing (with more laser sounds), so I kinda listened to the whole album twice in a row, and there was some fun audience stuff on that one that made me appreciate it a lot more, especially coming off of Mongoloid like that.
