merridia: (A day's work.)
Back at work, coughing up a storm but otherwise fine so nobody cares, gearing up for year-end, still emotionally recovering from The Iron Claw... it's a mixed bag! But the sun sets a couple of minutes later every day, the temperature is STILL somehow just hovering around freezing, and I'm looking forward to running when I get home. We'll make it!

I made my Secret Santa recipient cry? Boy I hope that's okay!! Starting to get into Christmas stress mode, but I'm also on survival autopilot mode until my work week is over, so hopefully I can get everything squared away in a total of four days!!

Chipped in my ten dollars for work pizza yesterday, but I feel like that shouldn't count as one of my designated ordering out days and I still owe myself a treat. We'll see what the jury comes back with after deliberations.

I am going to have a cagematch with this scanner if it doesn't stop starting shit with me whenever I actually attempt to get a bit of work done. Maybe it's just trying to motivate me to work on this fic some more.

Throwback to earlier this month when Christmas was just a lovely season full of vibes and not another bunch of things I gotta fucking DO:

A Christmas Carol, Royal George Theatre )

oh my god, a second assortment of baked treats has hit the manager's office, i gotta go
merridia: by <user name=ancientgate> (International politics.)
The good: Saw Godzilla Minus One again last night, still fucking adore it.

The bad: Oh my god I am so bloated I'm going to die. And then I'm going to pop like a Diablo necromancer hit me with Corpse Explosion. Y'all are gonna take physical AND fire damage.

The pretty cool, actually: Work Secret Santa and pizza party for the few of us that are here today. The closest thing to an actual winter day we've had yet and it's not even -20 degrees out. There is still barely any snow on the ground. It's a week from Christmas. This planet is BROKEN.

The jfc I need a better job: There's no receptionist today and none of the managers bothered to get someone to cover or even inform any of us who are actually working, leaving us to just... figure out how to handle all that on our own when we realized nobody was going to so much as turn the lights in the building on otherwise. Calls are being redirected to me. I hate it so very very much.

At least I've got AEW's annual women's tag team street fight to soothe my jingle jangled nerves. Kris and Willow did Pulp Fiction cosplay, complete with briefcase full of glass and thumbtacks.

Li'l vacation posting while I pray for pizza time:

Lerner and Lowe's Brigadoon, Shaw Festival Theatre )

One of the service advisors got donuts for me and the porters specifically, aww. Christmas!!
merridia: (It's all about flow.)
Today keeps annoying me, but it's also going by very quickly, so it can't actually be that bad. I just want to go home and move my body around, I think. And get away from all of these annoying people.

At least I have written... three? Whole sentences of a thing? Over the last nine hours? What is this, Nanowrimo or something??

RENT, Keyano Theatre )

I gotta make myself something good to eat tonight. Will I have the stamina to make perogies after a run? TIME WILL TELL.
merridia: (Throw some glitter; make it rain.)
Actually got a decent amount of sleep last night! These things are relative, so I'm still very cold and tired today, but a win is a win. And the sky's still up!

Had a really great evening in general, even if I got distracted by fitness app drama and only had time to watch an episode of the dumb new Frasier before bedtime after a very good run. Tonight... I think I shall get some fried chicken. I also think my period is incoming. These last two items may be related.

I was at work for about half an hour before I looked out the windows and thought 'oh good, the sky's up', so that feels like an accurate summary of where I'm at today. Lot of trouble falling asleep the last couple of days! And I didn't even get a Dynamite download in time to watch it! There's so much TV I already have to juggle on Thursdays at the moment! Also one of my feets hurts. This had better not interfere with running tonight. I genuinely look forward to it every day now! It's so gross!

Hamilton, Princess of Wales Theatre )

Gonna do some scanning, gonna play in Notion, gonna try to make some words if I'm feeling especially saucy. It's a Thursday! At least the sky's up!

And we're back to work! I have successfully booked the flights for my December jaunt across the country, which feels like enough productivity for one day, honestly, but I don't really want this to turn into a 'count the hours until I can go home and run' day, so I will endeavour to busy myself in other ways. Maybe I will write some fanfic or something! I've really got the bug right now, but actually making words instead of just thinking about making them is so so so hard.

Clue: On Stage, Keyano Theatre )

I should post about the two plays I saw back on my summer trip. Keep the records complete. Tomorrow, perhaps!

M&M's simply taste better out of a cup. They just do!

Got hit hard by my period on Monday, so my plans to get my life back on track in May were moderately derailed right off the bat, but I think I recovered nicely yesterday, after many hours spent curled up, watching TV and eating Laffy Taffy.

Taking it easy at work today. Got everything in order at the top of my shift, so it should be a pretty straightforward thing to stay on top of it all while fucking around with my bullet journal and other stuff. Finally hit upon a layout in Notion that I like to keep a central feed of queued movies without cluttering up my list of ongoing TV shows that I'm watching! YES THAT IS IMPORTANT.

Anyway, as mentioned previously, I saw a play, and I still have a template for that, so might as well!

I'm really behind on these random journal prompts, but they make for easy filler to make me feel like I'm accomplishing more while dicking around between all of the socials while I'm at work, so it's all good.

25. Do you enjoy being on boats?

I don't not enjoy it! I haven't really been on enough to have a strong affinity for them or anything like that, but in general, I am pro-boat.

26. Have your parents ever disapproved of the person you’re dating?

This would require ever actually dating someone, CHECK AND MATE.

27. What’s the longest you’ve slept for?

.........you know what, I don't know. Anything over ten hours tends to give me a headache, but that's a lesson I've learned a few times over. Let's say it's somewhere between twelve and fourteen maybe, at least unbroken? I don't get sick often enough for that to really be a factor, so I truly cannot say with any degree of confidence.

Anyway, I went to see another play when I got home last week! Just a little local production, so not exactly the same as last month's offerings, but it's an excuse to use this format one last time, which is fun!

Misery, Keyano Theatre )

Current mood: glad Hangman's okay. That was some scary shit last night.
merridia: (It's all about flow.)
Vacation officially more than half over! What even! It's definitely a long enough trip that I'll be happy to be home on the other side, but it's still flying by, you know? I definitely need to not wait years and years before taking the next one if I can help it.

Either way, crisp cosmopolitan relaxing has given way to the cozy culture cram of Stratford and fall arrived right on time. It's so neat to be somewhere where that's actually a season for the changeover! It's actually quite nice! Light jackets and gentle drizzles and leaves changing colours other than a dull yellow! I can briefly be an autumn person before heading back home, where it went from summer to frosty and miserable pretty much the instant I left.

Back to the combination album review/travelogs, at least until they give way to all the plays I've been seeing~

Okay, that got really long, but I said goodbye to the boys earlier and I've got a nice little house to myself for my last day here that is nicely equidistant between the Studio theatre and the train station so I shouldn't have any trouble finding my way out of here tomorrow morning. Two more shows and then I'm going to try Popeye's for the first time! NEW HORIZONS, BABY.
