Today was certainly a day. People died, and I continue to weigh my RP options, but Model Hot Co-Worker gave me a pair of super-cute boots and I've still got five episodes of Jessica Jones to watch, so you know what? I'mma call things a solid wash. Still don't know where this spaghetti sauce came from. Poll time!

Perhaps, you think, you can reach the bridge by swimming down the river - or maybe you will find a trail you can take east. It is a long way down, so you prepare for it carefully.

It is a long way down, and you jump as carefully as you can. You throw your boots and your pack down first; then you dive. To your horror, you find that the water is shallow and the bottom is muddy. You are stuck! You manage to struggle free, but when you reach the surface you see the open jaws of a Crocodile, ready to take you in. You grab your sword, but it's too late: the jaws are the last thing you see. Your adventure is over.

Oh, never mind.

Currently: Struggling to get my Comixology purchases downloaded in time to go to work and tinting armour. HAPPY NEW GHOSTBUSTERS DAAAAAAAAAAAAY. Not sure what I'mma do about lunch.

Gonna walk along the riverbank, scope things out a bit.

As you walk along, the ground becomes rocky and the path slopes upwards. Instead of dismal trees, you see the sky ahead of you! You emerge on top of a high cliff overlooking the murky Foulbrood River. It is at least twenty metres down to the river, and the cliff is too steep for you to climb down. Below, you can see huge crocodiles sunning themselves in the water. Far to the east you can see a bridge which appears to cross the river, but no trail leads along the riverbank in that direction. Two trails leave the clearing.

So Vargo sold the dealership to some corporation, it's pretty huge and everyone's freaking out and work is SO WEIRD right now and it's all just too much for a brief daily update to cover. So. I need to watch more Jessica Jones.

The trail dips down and you see swirling mist. The smell is vile and you hold your breath. But before you get out of the mist, you are forced to breathe. Lose 2 STAMINA points from the effect of the swamp fog.

You find yourself in a small opening on the bank of the Foulbrood River. The opposite bank is at least two hundred metres away. You see crocodiles and other creatures in the water.

Good thing you guys used your Ice spell on that shitty little creek!

I'd chalk up my lack of update yesterday to waiting for more votes, but in truth, I was just hella lazy and it felt SO GOOD. Didn't get much sleep because I stayed up stupid late, but I still got to sleep past noon, and just hnnnnngh I needed that so much, I feel way better now. Was a little more active than I prefer to be on my days off, went to the new Cora's for 2PM "breakfast" with mom and then we went to see The Night Before, but I'm up to head to work this morning and don't feel like murdering everything, so I'm calling it a win of a weekend.

Also, there's some sort of company-wide "breakfast meeting" happening at 10 up at the Sawridge Hotel, and everyone's like ?????? about what it could possibly be about. Is Vargo retiring? Did the dealership get sold? Are there gonna be mass layoffs? Are they gonna lock the doors and red wedding everybody, leaving only me, Dwayne, and my salesman nemesis as the lone AMP survivors because we're the only idiots who work Sundays? WHO KNOWS.

Okay, heading back North.

I just need to get to Friday. I just need to get to Friday. On Saturday, I can hit the reset button, but for now I'm stuck in this awful limbo where my body has no concept of what day it is and it just feels like I've been working forever. Hopefully I have enough money for comics today. OKAY I'M BACK, I bought a lot of comics. Rat Queens, Jem, Jughead, the last couple issues of Twilight Zone that I was missing, some stupid-looking steampunk Ghostbusters thing because it was 99 cents, and a few Archie digital collections. Not caught up on Usagi Yojimbo, so passed on the big #150 this week, boo me. Also reminded that I need to get the Archie vs. Predator hardcover at some point. And the Ghostbusters Get Real trade. Money, why. Wednesday!

Also, we're heading west.

As you walk west, the swamp becomes even grimmer. Just as you think that you can stand it no longer, the path begins to widen, and you find yourself in a long, narrow opening. You look around and see no other paths; you appear to have come to a dead end. You walk towards a large grey boulder, hoping to rest on it for a minute. Suddenly, the boulder moves! You are not looking at grey stone at all, but coarse grey hair. Red eyes glare at you, and a DIRE BEAST with six clawed legs moves toward you.

Got an absolute crap night's sleep for some reason (she said as if she wasn't up until after three playing DA:I, womp womp), so that's gonna make work... fun. Fun and a half. The Mr. Show callback at the end of w/ Bob and David episode 3 makes everything better, though (Shangy was British, right?). Gosh, my eyes hurt. Time to go.

At first you think it is a horse, but when it turns to face you, you realize that it is a UNICORN. It appears to be wounded; great claw marks score its flank. But it gets to its feet and lowers its horn at you, snorting a challenge.

Working on Saturday, but not for a couple hours, so maybe I won't be a complete mess by the time I roll in. Have managed to limit myself to only watching half of w/ Bob and David so far, I MUST SIP IT LIKE FINE WINE. Work was dumb yesterday, hopefully today will go a little smoother and my boss will go home before 7:30PM so I can actually get some tags some. Agents of SHIELD remains the weirdly fascist light in my life, so great. Last night I managed to make night pasta while waiting for my nails to dry, which I'm pretty sure deserves some sort of medal, possibly a Nobel.

Most important, NEW MR. SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm forcing myself to wait until tonight to watch fffffffffff I'm so excited. These idiots were such a formative part of a my entire sense of humour, y'all don't even know.

Stayed up all night watching a 79-year-old woman play Skyrim, getting ready for work. Desperately broke, just hanging on until payday tomorrow. At least I woke up relatively early today? SO MUCH WORKPLACE GOSSIP TODAY, ha ha it was so great. The ex-wife of one of our salesmen (who divorced her because she cheated on him in a drug-fueled three-way with a guy from the body shop and my co-worker who died in a plane crash a few months ago) left the guy she cheated with after he discovered she put him $130,000 in debt by hiding his bills, putting them all on credit cards, and spending the money on cocaine. Okay, so I didn't wake up so early today, but I tried and it's my day off so I'm only counting this one as half of a failure. Either way, I've got to do about 18 loads of laundry, clean the porch, and work out before my mom gets home. My abs hurt. I am made of string cheese.

The door opens, and a big burly man steps out. Another Wolf follows him. The man carries a sword and is dressed as a forester, but you know from the silver Wolf Amulet he wears that he is the MASTER OF WOLVES. You hail him in a friendly fashion. He answers gruffly, ordering you away.

It's late, I'm still behind on everything, but AGENTS OF SHIELD GOT RENEWED EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL. I was so legit concerned, that show's gotten so good, I was gonna be SO BUMMED if it was gonna be over next week. Hooray!

South it is! Oh hey, remember that time you were on the southern edge of the swamp?

It seems to become lighter as you walk along. Through the trees above you, you suddenly catch a glimpse of blue sky! A few minutes later, you see an opening in the trees - and when you step through, you realize that you have left the swamp! If you are not ready to leave Scorpion Swamp, you may retrace your steps and walk back the way you came until you reach the first clearing.

TRY AGAIN.

Actually this is no more than a wide spot where three trails meet. The ground is very shaky and wet, and huge insects flit over the pools of water that dot the ground.

Yeah, that's another luck roll to cross the squishy bit again.

You make it, but only after tripping over a protruding root and banging your leg on a stone - subtract 1 from your Stamina. You may now leave the clearing.
