I know how! Because seven days passed! Is rhetorical question! But my aunts finally arrived from Edmonton for their long-threatened visit, we could not put it off any longer, and so my badly-needed rest period was thoroughly filled with sitting around the table to be sociable while talking about the most boring things imaginable, playing card games, taking my grandmother out to dinner at mom's favourite gross Newfie restaurant, and trying not to snap and murder their terrible little yapping dog (one of the same ones that ate my retainer more than a decade ago!), just all kind of things that I am not necessarily averse to in a vacuum, but damn, I really need my recharge time of mindlessly watching movies and wrestling and reading comics to be functional during my seven days of NO SLEEP, ONLY WORK and I did noooooooot get that this time around. Just feels like some sad, lost week.
Still! We survived! My fully-vaccinated grandmother got to hang out with her fully-vaccinated sisters after way too long! I somehow managed to wrangle us all through a showing of Black Widow! It was the kick in the pants my mom needed to finally clear all the boxes out of the kitchen after two fucking years, even if she only got my brother to move most of them into the shed. So we're still not fucking unpacked, but at least I can mop properly now. At one point, she asked me if we should take the front wrapping off of the (no longer new) dishwasher and I got to feel like the big shitty buzzkill for pointing out the fact that we had only moved the mess outside (it was still all sitting on the deck at this point) and not actually done anything with it. At one point in the week, I stress ate two pounds of cherries! They're planning to come back in September. I'm just... so tired.
Still! Gotta push forward! It's the only direction to go! I am happy about MCU stuff and am very much looking forward to Fyter Fest tonight, so we'll see how long I can coast on the buzz from those! Just six-and-a-half more shifts to go!
Let's see, what else? Still struggling with the bank over getting reimbursed for a fraudulent charge on my Visa a month and a half ago, we'll see where that goes after another adventure through the phone trees last night. Bought some mutual funds? That's pretty weird!
The weather remains alternately beautifully hot and kinda chilly with rain, and frankly I'm loving that balance? A few days of one, a few of the other, it's the best of both worlds!
This is the longest my nails have been in a VERY long time. It's getting to the point where it's making typing tricky, and I legit cannot remember the last time that was the case, they just started breaking all the damn time. Something about the wear and tear of twice the hours of work in a work, probably, since I still only repaint them on Tuesdays. I should probably clip them, but I want to see how much longer this can last!
Slowly rebuilding my digital Bullet Journal from scratch in Notion after this latest Evernote update has finally made me give up the ghost on them. It'll save me six bucks a month and while I'm still getting used to the new format (those blocks can be clunky when trying to cut/paste), I think there's a lot of potential in it! Certainly easier to make it look nice, too. We'll see!
Okay, I think that's it for now, it's almost lunch time and I have comics to buy. Also work. So much work. LOKI WAS SO GOOD AND FYTER FEST IS TONIGHT THOUGH!
