(no subject)

One of those 'too much happened, can't remember any of it' sort of updates this month. It's been hot! It's still hot! Not quite as hot as it's been, though!

I've been enjoying the heatpocalypse quite a bit, actually, apparently 40 degrees is the sweet spot where the air conditioning can't quite keep up and I don't have to freeze in my bedroom with it on and can just enjoy being warm for a little while without dying (I spent small spells out on the porch reading comics in the sunshine, but obviously that's not sustainable long-term when it's this outrageous out).

The news out of Lytton left me feeling some kinda way yesterday. The progression from 'random place in BC you've barely heard of setting heat records' to 'aaaaaaaaand it's gone'... woof. But then I spent Canada Day reading comics on the porch in my underwear, which helped a lot. Beat setting off fireworks, anyway.

Am back at work after COVID jab #2 (Pfizer this time). Hopefully the side effects don't lay me out as badly as they did the first time around, because I should NOT have gone to work after that one and I won't make that mistake again if I'm feeling it come the morning. Fortunately, somebody fucked up my payroll and I totally got 35 extra hours of pay that I'm definitely not going to bring up, so I can take a sick day or two without it hurting anything aside from my workload when I get back.

Local mask mandate was dropped alongside the provincial one even though we haven't met the criteria we ourselves set for it because we have some of the whiniest people in the universe in charge. Whatever, at least our cases are down, hopefully they stay that way. I can't lose the theater again, gah.

Okay, arm getting sore, back to work. Just a few more hours to go.
