BABY'S FIRST WORK TRIP: DAYS 3-5
Oct. 30th, 2024 09:43 amOkay, so I got really sleepy and burned out and stopped updating Dreamwidth, but the rest of the trip went really well! I learned how to do lots of complicated warranty and booking stuff and saw some more cool movies! Culture peaked in 1987!
Followed up my ten days of not enough sleep with four days of way too much sleep, so I'm still a bit of a wreck; hopefully the next two weeks will help to stabilize me. Can't believe I gotta work through the Criterion David Cronenberg marathon, though, extremely rude.
Ranking my Lyft drivers based solely on their music choices:
As I expected, mom has used the last month of delays to talk herself into completely skipping radiation treatment again, which I don't love, but also don't feel qualified to really voice my displeasure about. There are legit side effects to be concerned about and missing a month of work to be miserable and bored in my aunts' basement is a massive issue when you're as financially unstable as we are, so like... I get it! And it's very much her call! But also, the cancer has already come back once already, I really don't want her to have to go through all this a third time. But maybe it's really gone this time and it'll be fine! Ugh, I don't know.
One month without Bub. It keeps just hitting me out of nowhere.
Breaking in multiple new pairs of shoes at once, so my toes are a little pinched, but also my first virtual race is tomorrow, so hang in there, feetsies!
( Album #404/1001: Coldplay - Parachutes )

Ranking my Lyft drivers based solely on their music choices:
- Mian Junaid - My beloved CKUA, clearly a man of taste and culture.
- Pawel - Basic ass radio, but tuned precisely to my basic ass radio tastes. Without Me followed immediately by Beautiful Life?? Hell yes.
- Olaoluwa - Some pretty sweet North African electropop?
- Tarsem - Basic ass radio, very middle of the road choice.
- Ramzi/Zaheer Ud Din/Raymond - Three way tie with dead silence. Weird, but I respect it.
- Varinder - Basic ass radio, but the bad kind. I should not be subjected to Justin Bieber at one in the morning.
