re: Happiness

Walked home in the pouring rain last night, coughing so hard I got a headache. Got home to a sodden package on the front stoop that nobody had bothered to take in, so I was annoyed and hurting and ordered some emergency pizza to make myself feel better. It mostly worked, except the coughing got so bad toward bedtime that it seriously felt like every blood vessel in my head was bursting, consequences of holding it in as best I could all day I guess? Hack hack hack hack hack. All because of two goddamn days of sore throat.

And then I spent the rest of the night listening to Gary Clark Jr. and alternating between avoiding socials because of wrestling spoilers and doomscrolling the news out of Jasper. I'm not going to go so far as to say it's triggering or anything so dramatic, but it definitely feels very weird and bad and it's hard to look away! 'Significant loss has occurred within the townsite' is one of those phrases that just hits like a sledgehammer when it comes from an official account while they're still in the thick of it.

I have Blood & Guts ready to go on my Plex server and leftover pizza waiting for me when I get home. Just gotta get through the rest of this oppressively dark, brown, chilly day.
