re: Self-Driving Cars

Ended yesterday in an absolutely foul mood thanks to some last-minute work bullshit, but fried chicken and yoga and reading some comics mitigated things a bit before I fell asleep, so I was able to start fresh today. Five hours sleep, and the REM cycles were particularly cooperative for a change, giving me lots of leisurely snooze minutes in the morning before it was time to drag myself out of bed.

It's my brother's birthday in two days, so I should probably get him something. Something small and cheap, because his stepmom bought him a new car, so... he's good.

Sure! Not, like, right now, that shit is simply not there yet (that one account making the rounds right of the poor guy in the robot taxi that parked itself next to a school bus and could only wave helplessly at the bus driver's admonishments, lol god), but once there's some actual oversight and the kinks are worked out, why not? Blindly trusting computers not to fuck up and kill me is a mug's game, but if they can prove themselves, I'll certainly trust them more than every random asshole in the world with a car.
