re: Environmental Impacts
Sep. 20th, 2024 09:49 amHad to layer with both a jacket and one of mom's big drapey sweaters to make the walk to work pleasant today, and while it was too cloudy (IT'S GON' RAIN) to see the source, there was much honking of Canada geese heading south for the winter along the way. Yesterday, there was a big bright moon in the sky (it was much clearer then) to menacingly accompany me, so this will probably be my last work set that involves any manner of sunlight at the beginning and the end of the day. Also, it's been exactly a year since Adam Cole's foot exploded, marking the true End of Summer. Sigh.
Last night I dreamed of heading to a nebulously exotic locale for a wedding at which I knew absolutely nobody. It was nice. No expectations.
Stayed up waaaaay too late for very stupid reasons, but I at least got a run in despite the attempts of my worst angels.
21. How Do You Try to Reduce Your Impact on the Environment?
Oof, no comment. I half-assedly sort my garbage despite acknowledging that 99% of municipal recycling is just theatre and it's pretty much all still going to landfills? I try to turn off fans and lights that my family leaves running constantly when they're not home, but that's such a losing battle. I convince myself that individual consumers do very little to the environment compared to the giant corporations murdering it and that any changes I could make to my excessive consumerist lifestyle would be entirely negligible and pointless in the grand scheme of things and the only impact would be negative and to me personally which isn't NOT true but is also an easy way of coping with my acceptance of being part of the problem instead of the solution because it feels like a long series of lost causes regardless.
Good thing I still have some Triscuits to get me through. They're baked with electricity!
