I'm in Saskatchewan! I can't say it's really winning me over! The apartment I'm staying in is lovely and cheap, however, and well worth the sweaty forty-minute trudge down one of the sketchiest highways I've ever seen, Regina what is your DEAL.
So I hopped the Red Arrow to Edmonton Wednesday morning, met up with my Auntie Irene, and then had the single most stressful travel experience of my life (maybe barring my regular turbulence-related panics) when I got dropped off at Rogers Place and immediately realized I had left my phone in my aunt's car as she drove away. My aunt who does not answer her phone when she's driving! And who I didn't have a phone to call anyway! I was completely fucking stranded in downtown Edmonton with no way to even get into the venue (digital tickets), so I pestered some convenient cops to ask if I could borrow a cell phone, called my mom to get my aunt's number (after aNOTHER upsetting moment of her going "who is this?" when I called going "mom?" because my voice is JACKED UP), and then blasted both my and my aunt's phone with calls and texts in the hopes that she would pull over. And then I just had to cross my fingers and hope, with no responses to go off of it! I kinda wandered between the cops and the point I was dropped off at until my aunt thankfully showed back up and I was able to get into the show with plenty of time and it was fantastic and I got to touch all of my favourite wrestlers so it all worked out hooray!!!
Thursday was the first day I was able to just stay up late and sleep in with no places to be since... June 22nd? So that was nice and much-needed and I took my Auntie Cam to go see that Korean movie everyone's nuts about and it was very thoughtful and melancholy and we had a nice time, and then we went home and watched Jeopardy! until she fell asleep.
And then yesterday I caught a bus for ten hours! It was at least half empty for the entire trip to Regina, so I never even had someone sitting next to me, and it was honestly just a pretty cool, chill day and I honestly enjoyed the trip, seeing all of the dumpiest, most boring parts of this great country of mine. Lots of stops to stretch my legs so I was never uncomfortable, I will definitely go with this sketchy-ass Rider Express company again in the future.
Now IMPRESS ME, REGINA.
( Album #233/1001: Ride - Nowhere )
Okay, I should probably go find somewhere to eat before I'm in the second row when CM Punk fights Samoa Joe for the first time in almost twenty years, byeeeee!
