re: Nail biting, online shopping
May. 9th, 2022 08:37 amSigh. Woke up to more snow. I should have expected it, as our last snowfall was April 30th and there's ALWAYS one last one in May, but man, it was like twenty degrees last week! It's been a full month since our bullshit unseasonable two-foot dump! Let a bitch LIVE, PLEASE. I had to break my cardinal rule of never pulling my winter coat back out after hanging it up for the summer, but the last couple of walks had been pretty cold and miserable and today it's back below zero, so I'd rather take the hit to my pride instead of my limbs. But the PRINCIPLE, DAMN IT. Also all the wormies that came up after all the rain are frozen now, gross.
Spent most of yesterday making my mom a Mother's Day card using office supplies, because while I may be 33 years old, I'm also still 6 years old as well (it makes sense if you think about it). And then when I got home I ordered her her favourite beer-battered brussels sprouts and rewatched Strange New Worlds (so good) with her, and it was a pretty nice night, even if she's been mad stressed and shitty feeling for the last week or so.
8. Do you bite your nails?
Nope, never have nor really understood the impulse! Sometimes I'll, like, gnaw off those little hard bits of skin next to the nail that can start peeling off, because there's no other real safe way that I've found to get rid of those without risking grievous finger pain, but otherwise, nah. Maybe it's because I've always had such bad teeth? My nails feel tougher than them, biting just seems like such a horrifically ineffectual way to go about doing things.
9. What’s the last thing you bought online?
The word online is pretty redundant in this question at this point in my life. I think theatre concessions and the occasional drive-thru are the only things I buy in person these days. Supper for my mom last night? If delivery doesn't count, then I don't know, a couple of Humble Bundles the other day? Train tickets to Montreal a few days ago? I gave my mom $70 yesterday to buy a pantry she found on Facebook, does that count? Everything! It's all online.
Still not sure what I'm going to do with myself today. Entertain myself with coworker's old man dog? Get more trip stuff in order (though I got a lot done over the weekend and don't want to burn myself out)? Stare daggers out of windows until the snow stops? Just futz around in Notion for a while, pretending to be productive while I just move blocks around? Maybe do some actual work for a little while? Time to see where the day takes me, I guess!
