re: Holidays
Mar. 1st, 2022 08:48 amOne more day. I closed like 200 work orders for month end yesterday, so at least I have a tremendous amount of easy, follow-up busywork that should eat up several hours all by itself. SO CLOSE. I'M SO CLOSE. GRANT ME STRENGTH.
1. Is there a holiday you don’t like?
I've kinda gotten over Christmas, these last few years? I still love the IDEA of Christmas, and the whole Christmas SEASON (have not yet taken the tree down and tbh have no concrete plans to do so), but the holiday itself? It just feels like a giant looming yearly set of massive obligations to me, and that's no fun. Why can't they give me the low-stakes pleasures of Halloween off of work instead, especially now that I'm an adult and can just buy my own candy? Also, have never understood the appeal of Thanksgiving. It's just a meal, but maybe it hits harder in the US when it's not just a random day in the back half of Halloween (with the capitalism-imposed creep of Christmas to the beginning of November, Halloween now starts in September to match, that's the rule).
