Spring Season: Weeks 41/42
Dec. 21st, 2020 11:19 amLast update of the year? Maybe I'll do some sort of 2020 retrospective, because it has been A YEAR.
It has also been A WEEK, I am very tired (so what's new, lol I know), work has decided I should have a bunch of new duties on top of everything I already take care of, so that's been... fun, trying to fit them all into my existing workflow. No raise of course, don't be silly. WHATEVER, I still get paid enough to cover my mortgage and comic books to spend my days in a 10 foot cube, listening to podcasts*, so I shouldn't complain TOO much.
I shall complain about the weather instead! It finally got stupid cold! Not, like, unusually so, just regular winter cold, but walking to work when it's -40 still fuckin' sucks, so. It's also been snowing a ton, which just feels unfair, usually it's one or the other? Still, we had it real good for a real long time, it's already the shortest day, so hopefully I won't have to ride it out for as long as usual. The snow is annoying, though, because it means I haven't been able to enjoy the sunsets and rises at work because it's so cloudy! It finally cleared up today, though. Very nice. Let me have my small pleasures in the midst of my sleep deprivation, plz nature.
*Listening to podcasts and also... tagging? I've been tagging again this week! What the hell! Like, proper threads, with actual interactions and wherein my character's narrative is advanced in meaningful ways! Just... out of the blue! It has been a REAL long time, and I'm not sure what changed or how long it will last, but I'm loving it so I'm not going to question it. Gonna try for a round a day on my week off to keep things going, but work weeks really are the best time for it for me right now, I think.
Low-key stressing about Christmas, but only low-key since it's tied into all sorts of broader issues I have with my home life at the moment that I should probably vent my spleen about somewhere that's just for me. I don't want to get into it, looking to improve things in 2021, etc. etc.
Movie time! Themes for the week included Joan Crawford (since I watched a ton of Bette Davis earlier in the year and I don't want to get haunted) and one final Christmassy rush on the theater before it shut down for the year.
