Fall Season: Week 6
Oct. 15th, 2019 08:07 pmHappy belated Thanksgiving, all!
At work, and while the siren call of take out isn't proving quite as difficult as usual to stave off, it's still gonna be a long couple of hours between customers, so have an update.
Been making a point of watching at least one episode of television a day to at least chip away at the backlog of shows I've got piling up that I'm behind on. The super cute little floor couch I bought makes just sitting and watching TV over supper a lot more convenient, which helps. The Good Place is so damn good, goddamn. Am now finally watching the last of the Marvel Netflix shows, since the cancellations killed all my motivation to plow through them when they came out like I would normally do. THEY JUST MAKE ME SAD, NOW. Still, that Punisher season two premiere was kind of a masterpiece, in a way that I don't see the rest of the season being able to live up to.
The cookies I brought are crumbling all over me. :(
Stayed up waaaaaaaaay too late Sunday night because I randomly decided I NEEDED to transfer all my compatible 360 games over to Xbone RIGHT THAT MOMENT, but on the plus side, I finally started playing Final Fantasy XIII after having it sit around for a decade. Got to run up and down all KINDS of long, straight walkways full of really easy fights!
Trying to avoid so much as LOOKING at the big Criterion flash sale, but I have a feeling I'm gonna cave later. The shipping is pretty prohibitively expensive with those guys normally, but 50% off changes the game considerably. If I'm lucky, the Josef von Sternberg box set will be sold out by the time I start poking around and I'll be able to move on with my life.
I need to stop clicking on election-related things, it all just makes me nauseous at this point. I voted on Sunday (for all the good it did (none)), I need to just put it all out of my mind until the 21st, it's DONE.
( MOVIE SPOILER ZONE: Archipelago, Unrelated, The Night of the Shooting Stars, Ad Astra, Trainspotting, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie )
The October Cry Count stands at 6 after the Riverdale premiere (OBVIOUSLY), finding out Robert Forster died literally as the El Camino credits were rolling, and moving all my random shows onto Plex, forgetting what 'St. Elsewhere Season 7' is, assuming it was just a weird file naming error, and proceeding to watch the whole damn thing. "You love me more than anyone has in a long time." HE'S CLEARLY TALKING ABOUT EHRLICH, I MEAN, COME ON.
