[260] Back from hiatus?

A wild entry appears! I figure a new grandparent-related medical crisis warranted such a thing, since they are how I mark the passage of time these days. Mostly I've just been working and cleaning and trying to get my crap together a bit more, RP-wise. Which reminds me, I should do an SotP or something. Another time.

Oh, also! I have a new Twitter account for RP stuff, since I was getting self-conscious babbling about such things when I've got a fair few followers from outside of my games. SO, TR and Darrow people, feel free to follow me @piscobandito. It will probably be 90% apologizing for late tags.

So the other day, my grandfather informs us that he fell and hurt his leg. He's been hobbling around since then, so we finally convinced him to go see a doctor. After navigating the comically inept halls of our hospital (there were people sleeping in the hallways, yellow police tape all over the place, and splatters of blood covering walls that were still there when we left half an hour later, I felt like I was in a movie), we left him to his own devices in the emergency room and went home, where he eventually rejoined us.

Yesterday, he was admitted to the hospital for surgery Friday, to fix what he called a stretched tendon. We thought this was pretty weird, since yeah, that totally hurts, but usually it takes weeks or even months to get into surgery for something that minor. Tonight, me and my mom stopped by the hospital on our way to supper to drop off some clothes for my grandmother (who lives on the fourth floor) and my grandfather's phone charger, which he'd forgotten to bring. While we're in his room, one of his doctors comes in to review the eight billion medications and injections and inhalers he takes and we kind of wait off to the side. Pretty glad we stuck around, though, because the doctor opens with "So I see you've ruptured your Achilles tendon."

THAT IS NOT A STRETCHED TENDON, PÉPÈRE. GODDAMMIT. And we totally never would have known that was what he did to himself had we not happened to be there just then.

Ugh. At least this means he's out of the house for the rest of week. Peace and quiet.

And okay, it took me a lot longer than expected to scrounge together cash to re-up my paid time. Have uploaded new icons in celebration and everything. I blame online Black Friday sales ("What are you doing? You don't need a scale." "But Sense of Self-Control, it's electronic!" "So? The one you have works fine." "But it's a hundred dollars off!" "Well shit, what are you waiting for? Oh look, cheap Blu-rays!"). I am never gonna get to travel again at this rate. Anyone still want a poll?

You settle the ship into orbit round the blue planet and check your scanners. It appears that the entire surface is covered in water, although there do seem to be life-forms within the water.
