February second! Stupid day. Great movie. I think I'm going to go watch it, in fact, once I get my work schedule for the month all straightened out. Also, they are bugging me to pick my vacation days for the year and I have no clue what I'm doing yet. I'm half-tempted to tell them to give me all of July off, but that probably wouldn't sit well. Need to figure what the hell I'm doing.
Movie night at the hospital with my grandmother tonight. Probably going to watch The Fighter. Was told an amusing anecdote about how the staff all thought we were super religious or something because we always bring popcorn but no BOOZE for hospital movie nights, when... it really never occurred to us that that would be a thing to do? Laughs were had. I think the hospital buys my grandmother wine now that we cleared it up and they know we like drinkin', so maybe we can hit up her stash there.
More grandparent updates, since taking care of them is a large part of my life these days. Grandmother got her cast off, but there was skin breakdown, so she's still not allowed to use her scooter and is still stuck in her room until that heals. In a surprise twist, my grandfather has apparently blown through all of the money he got in his car accident settlement a few years back and is now completely broke, so me and my mother are completely supporting him. At least now he can't bitch about how he pays so much more of the rent and utilities than us while he was paying barely a quarter of it for years (math obviously not being his strong suit, I guess we shouldn't be too surprised that his money all magically dried up) since he will now be paying NONE of it.
Giving myself two years to save up as much as I can so I can finally get out of this god-forsaken town, much as I don't actually want to ditch my batshit-crazy family.
Really need to buy a new keyboard, apparently one of my Ctrl keys is fucking up now so my keyboard keeps reverting to french mode, and then I have to smash it against things until it works again (or use the other Ctrl key, but that's, like, way on the other side, man). My mouse has been good for a few days now, but I know it's only a matter of time before it becomes impossible to use for a stretch again and I hurt myself in smashing it until it works again. Left speaker remains blown out a good 90% of the time, and makes horrible static sounds the other 10%, and even trusty smashing has ceased to work in fixing it.
That promotion I'll hopefully be getting in the spring cannot some soon enough, basically.
