[150] I, Merrneto...
Wow, what a difference a few hours can make, huh?
So less than an hour into my shift, my boss shows up to pick up the deposits and drop off the schedule for July (since she's actually been making them at a reasonable time these last two months, maybe she IS capable of learning things). What then followed was a truly delightful conversation that began "So, you're leaving on the fifteenth, right?" "Uh... no?" She gets all up my ass about not being able to leave on the 13th, and how if I do, I'll probably only be part-time when I get back. Then she whips out my vacation request form that says I'm leaving on the 15th, at which point I point out that said form specifically only asks for the WEEKDAYS I'll be gone, and that in my initial proposal, I made it very clear that I would need that weekend off, too. Then she starts in about how her vacation was extended to the 18th months and months ago and why should she cut it short? At which point I pointed out that I'd already had to bend over backwards in order to fit MY vacation in after hers since nobody knew about it until I was trying to figure mine out.
Which was when she told me that when she took her vacation was 'none of our business.' Despite the fact that... it directly affects when we can take ours.
Which was when I started yelling and quit on the spot. Fortunately, the mall was still pretty empty, so there were no customers around, but... the mall was still pretty empty, so they probably heard me all the way down at the food court. There may have been swearing.
On the one hand, I'm really bummed because I genuinely loved working there. After nearly quitting at the beginning of May, I had so much hope of being able to hold out until she retires at the end of the year and stay on with the company because seriously, for all my complaining, it was a great job. On the other hand, fuck that bitch, hope she enjoys being completely left in the lurch for treating her employees like shit.
tl;dr Surprise month-long work reprieve before I head to California! If I stock up on pasta and freezer food, I should be able to last until August without having to get TOO miserly with my savings. Now to figure out what I'm gonna do with myself until then. Finding solace in shippy threads for the time being.
Sidebar: Think it's worth it to start up a new pollventure after our latest gruesome death? Or should I wait until after I get back from vacation so we don't end up taking a random three-week break in the middle of it?

How long did it take us to die this time? Because we might be able to fit in another disaster, unless you want to take a break from 'em~
