[035] Along came a spider...

Somehow, my life continues to revolve around my freaking grandparents and their ongoing drama, agh. My grandmother, though, at least her problems aren't her fault this time, it's more from the grossly incompetent hospital that she lives in. If we could afford lawyers, we would sue the fuck out of them, basically, but we can't, so she keeps getting screwed over. The current thing is her leg, which has recently come out of the cast it was in (after their negligence got it broken a few weeks ago) only to have skin breakdown of such severity that they had to move her two floors down because they'll have to knock her out to debride it. I cannot even.

Meanwhile, my horribly diabetic grandfather continues to fail to understand the basics of feeding himself on anything other than garbage. He bought himself groceries yesterday. You know what he bought? Six loaves of bread, a litre of honey, milk, and SPAM. This will last him MAYBE three weeks. Oh, and then he was too weak to carry these two bags in himself, AND HE FUCKING WONDERS WHY. No matter how many times my mother and myself try to explain to him that he is killing himself, that he needs to buy fresh food, to shop around the outside of the store, he just. Doesn't. Get. It. I cannot count how many times he's argued that the Spam is healthy because it says it has 12% less sodium than regular Spam. He doesn't eat anything that doesn't come out of a can or a bucket or a pot. He buys canned peaches and fruit cocktail and thinks that qualifies as fresh food because it's fruit, never mind that it's also pure sugar and he is diabetic. He'll go and visit his friends, who cook actual meals, and eat all sorts of food that his doctors have explicitly told him he can't eat (tomatoes being the biggest offender) because he doesn't want to tell them he can't. I cannot do this anymore. He just refuses to get it, refuses to change, even as his health deteriorates day by day. It is so intensely frustrating to watch someone you live with killing himself in ways that are very easy to change.

Ugh. Sorry about that.

ANYWAY. I am still collecting addresses for Valentine's Day purposes, so you should get in on that! I am having way too much fun with these stupid things.

Also on the plus side, I've discovered that jamming a pen into my keyboard allows me access to my two missing keys, which reduces aggravation by at least 37%. It's still fairly aggravating, but less so!

Definitely going to tag some shit tonight, and I have a couple EPs written up that I want to post this weekend so I can interact with all you lovely RPers again. I still exist, really!
