[493] we are so cool, so normal
Gonna be a sad sort of day. Said goodbye to Little Bear this morning, because she won't be there when I get home. Looked at a bunch of pictures of her when she was a puppy last night and cried a lot, so hopefully I can keep it together well enough at work.
Yesterday marked one year without my Bub, so mood was already low, and then mom bailed on the Monday mystery movie because she wasn't feeling well, so I just rewatched last week's Dynamite to boost my spirits instead. I do genuinely think it might be one of my favourite episodes ever? Between the old man yaoi, Hangman's cow gear and Lee Moriarty officially taking over as the Pittsburgh local hero (the doctor is OUT), FTR continuing to be some of my favourite heels in the company (saying Beth has a microbrawler head is hilarious I'M SORRY LET WILLOW FIGHT THEM), the women's tag title announcement, Orange's return, and Statlander ending the night with main event Mina and a motherfucking FLAMETHROWER, the whole thing just felt like it was booked for me personally, like a fun little post-PPV present. Very much what I needed.
I need to get my shit together and put together a stockpile of change so that I can start taking the bus and go to the movies on my own; they revamped our terrible transit system after many years so (if it all works as it's supposed to) I can theoretically now just hop on a bus and get all the way across town in about forty minutes, including the transfer. Game changer!
Okay, back to random videos of Edge and Christian playing real small in the corner of my screen while I pretend to be gainfully employed and avoid feelings about anything real:

Wikipedia Sez: Movies is the second album by Holger Czukay, released in 1979 through Electrola. Czukay's first solo album since leaving Can, the album combines electronic textures and tape loops influenced by the musique concrète work of avant-garde composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, and is an early experiment in sampling, "utilizing media samples accumulated over months of channel surfing and random radio listening" (the Iranian singer on "Persian Love", for instance, was found by chance on radio). Otherwise, the album combines bass and whispered vocal parts with layered synths and lilting African rhythms, the latter courtesy of percussionist Kwaku Baah, and the overall flow of the record is achieved by different segments being pieced into a unified whole.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Art Rock, Experimental, Experimental Rock
Release Date: September 1979
Prior Familiarity: None. I've pulled a couple of Can albums so far and did not care for them at all, though.
What I Did While Listening: Tidied up! Did my laundry! I think my inability to get shit done around the house can be directly tied to my dropping off on music listening, because there is really no better excuse to just do stuff than having a big ol' pair of cans on so you can't put on some more wrestling or pull out a book.
Verdict: Maybe this guy did all the stuff in those Can albums that I actually liked? Because that was fun as hell. Short and weird, even with meandering 10+ minute tracks?? Hell yeah, brother.
Favourite Song: Oh Lord, Give Us More Money because WOW YEAH WHAT A MOOD AMIRITE
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
She was a good dog.
