[492] I had to crucify somebody today

I am... phlegmy. But feeling a bit better. Better enough to see an almost three-hour long movie tonight, at least! And hopefully do my laundry. And take a bath? And do my nails. THERE ARE NEVER ENOUGH HOURS.

Wikipedia Sez: Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches is the third studio album by the English rock band Happy Mondays, released on 5 November 1990 by Factory Records. Disc jockey (DJ) Paul Oakenfold and collaborator Steve Osborne were previously enlisted by the band for remixes. The success of these led to the pair producing "Step On", a cover of the John Kongos song, for Happy Mondays. The band went on a tour of the United States, and by the end of which, had started recording their next album with Oakenfold and Osborne at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, California. They returned to the United Kingdom, where further recording took place at Eden Studios in London until September 1990. Described as a Madchester album, Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches saw substantial input from Oakenfold and Osborne, with the former making loops while the latter handled song arrangements.

Release Date: November 5th, 1990

Prior Familiarity: None. And there is no such thing as a happy Monday.

What I Did While Listening: Slowly, painstakingly motivated myself to get out of bed to get dressed and go visit my grandmother. I was torn between Challengers hoodie with yoga pants, or full sweatsuit, and that's what being a fashion icon is like on the daily. Also wrote some porn!!

Verdict: It's a bit samey throughout, and a bit overlong, but not bad.

Favourite Song: Bob's Yer Uncle is both very horny AND has a fun flute riff!

Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

ALL OUT REWATCH BEGINS TONIGHT. I will probably only do a match or two at a time, though, both to savour the memories and because of the aforesaid never enough hours issue.
