[488] where my poor restless heart's gotta run

Settling into the 'brain-death' portion of the work week. Need to snap myself out of it. Not sure if I will. Not sure if I'll be going to the movies tomorrow, either, since I'll want to see Materialists, my mom will want to see How to Train Your Dragon But It's Brown Now, and neither of us want to see the other's choice even remotely. Hopefully I can convince her to meet me in the middle and just go see the OG HTTYD, which is also playing, and in an improbably late enough slot for me to go after work. We'll see! It's Friday the 13th, why are there no horror movies out this weekend???

Wikipedia Sez: Groovin' is the third album by the rock band the Young Rascals. The album was released on July 31, 1967 and rose to #5 on the Billboard Top LPs chart, number 7 on the R&B chart, and number 2 in Canada. Eight of the songs were released on singles with the title track reaching number 1 on the Pop chart in the U.S.

Genre: Pop/Rock, R&B

Styles: Blue-Eyed Soul, Soul, AM Pop, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Rock & Roll, Sunshine Pop

Release Date: July 31st, 1967

Prior Familiarity: Thought it was none, but ended up recognizing a bunch of songs. Very much an 'oh, it's THAT band'. The Good Lovin' guys!

What I Did While Listening: Skipped over another album because it was twice as long then opened a pack of Pokemon cards and tidied up before bed.

Verdict: It's fun! A bit forgettable, it all kinda blends together aside from the title track, but so much more soulful than you'd expect from... you know. How they look.

Favourite Song: You Better Run is pretty outclassed by the Pat Benatar cover, so How Can I Be Sure.
