Maundy Thursday! I stayed up too late again watching more Sakura Genesis, but I've only got the main event left! Yota Tsuji pulling out twin magic at the most random, unexpected times is so goddamn funny to me. Also finished Daredevil: Born Again and have a surprising amount of feelings about it:
Genuinely wild to me that the same company cowardly pulling anything that dares to acknowledge trans people exist was willing to put out an episode of television that ends on such a full-throated statement and stand against Trumpism. But still somehow not as wild as the fact that they actually tried to recast Vanessa when they were just starting out???? WHAT EVEN. Also I was very worried for Jack every time Tony Dalton showed up in the credits after the first time, so I was very relieved to see him just chilling in a cage for the time being at the end.
Frank just murdering the hell out of a whole bunch of cops probably should not have been as cathartic as it was. Good show. I'll still bemoan what 'television' has come to mean in the streaming age (remember when this was first announced as a single 18-episode season and it felt like such a breath of fresh air and then LOL NEVER MIND, though I suppose two seasons coming out in two years is a similar novelty these days so maybe it's a lateral move), but yeah, that was some good shit, even if all the all the new supporting characters are kinda meh (and even that part feels true to my experiences with Daredevil comics, honestly). MORE, PLEASE.
Off tomorrow because Easter, which I completely forgot about and am very grateful for (anything to break up the work week, man). Going to have lunch with my grandmother and then go see Sinners. For Jesus.
