[465] love is like a cloud, holds a lot of rain

Back at work, where everybody is just coughing, constantly. I'm cold, and tired, and hungry, but possibly in a better mood than yesterday despite all that? Uncertain. At least I've only had one customer so far, things got pretty crazy yesterday.

Not to be overly dramatic, but the Owen Hart Cup finals being in Arizona this year is a personal attack and the worst thing that has ever happened to anyone in history, and not having a SINGLE Canadian in the tournament is worse than anything happening politically in the world right now.

On the less-facetious side, the confirmation that I likely don't have any wrestling trips to plan for any time soon has alleviated my guilt over spending a sizable chunk of my afternoon yesterday planning a sudden pilgrimage to Edmonton to see a bunch of David Lynch movies later this month. I think I will book some bus tickets today. Sometimes a random marketing email from Cineplex can really derail your day, what can I say!

Need to finally get off my ass and look into locking in an electricity contract, if only so I can stop getting fucking emails from our idiot government bullying me into it with their latest corporate jargon. It should end up being cheaper for me regardless, but god the UCP are scum.

Also still need to find my passport. For Reasons.

Wikipedia Sez: A Date with the Everly Brothers is the fourth studio album by American singing duo the Everly Brothers, released in 1960. It peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Pop albums charts and reached No. 3 in the UK. The song "Love Hurts" appears here for the first time. It would subsequently be covered by numerous other artists. Other than the "Cathy's Clown"/"Always It's You" single, all of the tracks on A Date with the Everly Brothers were recorded in just four sessions during July 1960.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Close Harmony, Early Pop/Rock, Rock & Roll

Release Date: October 1960

Prior Familiarity: Some? Some!

What I Did While Listening: Not much, it's very short! Finished putting away my laundry, at least.

Verdict: It's quite fun at its best and horrendously corny at its worst, but also it's less than half an hour long, so a pretty easy, painless experience, all told.

Favourite Song: Love Hurts is one of those songs that I never remember how much I like until I'm actively listening to it, even if this isn't my favourite version (that's Gram Parsons). Sigh, Cry, Almost Die however, is a very funny thing to call a song, truly the 'screaming crying throwing up' of its day.

Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Tonight: Some extra-hot ramen and an episode of Enterprise, and I'm going to leave my planning at that.
