re: Summer Food
LAST DAY. Also my brother's 20th birthday, somehow? Pretty weird! He's doing supper with his dad tonight so I'm off the hook until tomorrow and we can go out when I'm good and rested. I'm either going to stay up until four in the morning tonight or crash immediately upon getting home, and either way, it's going to be delicious.
There were fireworks on my way home from work on Sunday, it was very strange. I heard them as I left work, but it took a while of walking before I could see some of the clouds lighting up in various colours. Eventually, I rounded a corner that let me see them in the distance, in a manner where I have yet to actually figure out where they were happening and how I could see them? I genuinely have no idea what part of town my eyeline was perceiving, it's very confusing. Pretty neat, though, for a random walk home. They went on for a good fifteen minutes, which is VERY long for a proper display here. Maybe people were just very excited on Fire Walk With Meve (I, however, simply continued my Twin Peaks rewatch with Episode 5).
Learned about the manji symbol in Japanese when I was watching a show where wrestlers write out their favourite moves and the adorable host's reveal of her answers very much jarred me out of my vibes until I figured out that is simply how you spell my boy Zack's finisher! At which point I went 'oh yeah, I guess you kinda do make a little swastika with your legs, that makes sense'. Also makes sense why they call it an octopus hold in English instead.
What a difference a week makes; everything outside was a pale blue as I went to work this morning. The sort of muted morning light where the street lights are all still lit, but they don't really need to be anymore, you know? By the time I come back to work another week from now, my day will start in daylight proper once again.

...popsicles I guess? My diet doesn't really change seasonally. My hot dog consumption probably goes up a bit thanks to the uptick in barbecues? I do love a hot dog.
