re: Board Games
The cold snap has finally broken! A fifteen degree jump from yesterday! Which of course means freezing rain tonight, which means an icy hellscape will follow, but STILL. Cold bad. Winter bad. I don't know when exactly it started making my brain so bad, as well, but that's clearly a thing now, so!
Movie tomorrow, and I am looking forward to it very much. #The100DayProject starts the day after, and even though it's mostly about artists showing off on social media, I'm going to try to use it as an impetus to push through this long-standing inertia of mine and actually make some words consistently again. AEW has really been hitting for me on TV lately. Things are looking up!
Anne of Windy Poplars is not nearly as good as the books that came before and after it in the timeline, which is why publication order is 99% of the time the way to tackle reading things!!! This goes for watching stuff too, the order things were made is generally the order they are meant to be taken in! Instead of just being a boring four years of teaching and writing long letters to her fiance and butting into the annoying lives of annoying assholes, it serves as a nice and needed reprieve from the unending heartbreak of her kids all having to grow up (OR NOT) through World War I. PUBLICATION ORDER. (almost) ALWAYS.

I refuse to answer publicly because board game people are super snobby. I just like games!

- I am generally opposed to twenty-minute talking segments opening the show, especially with no big matches later on to offset it (only four matches on the card and they were all solid 3.5 star bouts, the platonic ideal of TV wrestling, but nothing to really sink your teeth into), but Hangman/MJF was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, so whatever! It kinda struck me last week that the feud hadn't yet really merited big dramatic pull-aparts with a billion security guards, but this week drove home that it didn't really need to earn it? This shit isn't personal, it's like Excalibur said, they're just two insanely combustible elements that happened to get mixed at the exact wrong moment and FWOOOOSH. Oh, oops, you made a friend once and ended up with all of your insecurities tattooed all over your face forever now, Max, would be a shame if someone... needled you on them, huh? Was really not expecting CD's murder to be Hangman's big come to Jesus moment, but I don't hate it.
- The Conglomeration lives!!! Hooray!!! And, true to form, it's not some big thing, it's just Kyle being like "I am on the side of getting hugs from all of my friends" :))) He may canonically be a giant idiot who is definitely being taught to read by Mark Briscoe, but he's smart enough to know that it's nice to have backups for when Adam Cole inevitably turns on them (or vice versa, Roddy's been burned enough times now, he's more than capable of taking the initiative).
- The Revolution match graphics. Love the Cyberpunk 2077 rebrand they're rocking this year. God I wish I lived in LA (except not really, because... everything.)
- Strong lady fight! The ending was kinda lame, though, Kris can afford to lose to Megan clean right now, but maybe we'll get a sick tag team street fight out of it.
- Double or Nothing moving from Las Vegas feels WEIRD, but is entirely the right call, so I am looking forward to more neon cactus graphics after Revolution.
- The Grand Slam Australia recap really drove home how cool 10,000 people singing Cope's entire theme acapella was; maybe he WILL win after all???
- (so that Christian can immediately cash in and cause problems on purpose #oldmanyaoi)
- Harley Cameron should break into Taz's house and steal the FTW belt and declare herself the inaugural Feel The Wrath champion. Hook can try to win it back again if he likes.
- Hopefully any backstage weirdness with Gabe Kidd and Mariah was worked out before he was announced for this weekend? Dude had a rough cycle on social media as new people learned about his comments from a few years ago, but it never felt to me like something that needed to be hashed out publicly after his breakdown.
- MOMO AT REVOLUTION??? GIMME.
