re: Dream Car

Ugh, it took almost an hour for my ear to stop being super hot after the freezing walk to work. 10/13 down, because I got picked up from here when I dipped early to head to the movies last night (I took half my lunch hour at 2, and then half at 7, so it all works out!).

Love Hurts is under eighty minutes long without the credits, 90% of the dialogue is spoken by off-screen characters, and most motivations are delivered through random voiceovers of inner monologues, so that should tell you how thoroughly cobbled-together in post everything aside from the (actually pretty solid) fight scenes were. A LOT of this was clearly cut, possibly due to Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose's romantic chemistry being deeeeeeeep in the negatives, and there are random artifacts from abandoned plot points left floating around, unexplained, all over the place. Also continuing DeBose's streak of quite possibly the single worst immediate post-Oscar run in the history of film. I'm sorry, Jonathan Eusebio, but not all stunt guys can simply pull a Leitch, it's not a bad thing to stay in your lane! The fight scenes were pretty cool! Do more of those! At one point, Marshawn Lynch yells BEAST MODE and tackles a guy and also a Property Brother shows up. Heart Eyes pretty handily wins the V-Day war this year, go see it! Mason Gooding was the best thing to come out of Cuba's own lousy post-Oscar run.

Two days to go. I'm so tired of being so tired. And also cold. The Monday Mystery Movie is probably The Monkey, which is probably my most anticipated movie this year, and I will be STUCK HERE. Why the hell is it only in Canada this time, though?

14. Do You Have a Dream Car?

One that drives itself that I actually trust would be cool. I really hate driving! That's why I don't do it!
