[422] welcome to a new kind of tension
Stressful final day off. Mom came home early from work because her boss gave her a ride, and then several hours were spent on a rollercoaster of phone calls with the Dodge dealership. Turns out it'll be 4-6 weeks before they can get the necessary part to fix the van! And you can't take loaner vehicles out of town! And they only cover five days of rental cars, which you can! Which means she wouldn't be able to make her now-rescheduled radiation appointments next month anyway! Ugh, it's all such bullshit. HOWEVER, the manager that the service advisor needs to go to to get special authorization to take a loaner vehicle out of town for weeks on end happens to be one of my old managers that got ousted in the coup earlier this year, and we always got along really well, and she was real understanding and sympathetic about how stressed out I was back when my mom was going through chemo and the first surgery, so I'll hit her up in the morning and hopefully grease those wheels a bit. I can't imagine they'll say no to the request, these are some pretty special fucking circumstances, I think???
Anyway, mom's getting a rental vehicle tomorrow as a stopgap until they can get her a loaner at all, and they're going to try to expedite the part as much as possible, and the actual repairs should all be covered under warranty as a manufacturer defect, and we ordered some pizza and it was really good, so hopefully that'll be enough hope on the horizon to get a decent night's sleep tonight. Back to work in the morning! UGH.

Wikipedia Sez: American Idiot is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Green Day, released on September 21, 2004, by Reprise Records. As with their previous four albums, it was produced by Rob Cavallo in collaboration with the group. Recording sessions for American Idiot took place at Studio 880 in Oakland and Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, both in California, between 2003 and 2004. A concept album, dubbed a "punk rock opera" by the band members, American Idiot follows the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a lower-middle-class American adolescent anti-hero. The album expresses the disillusionment and dissent of a generation that came of age in a period shaped by tumultuous events such as 9/11 and the Iraq War. In order to accomplish this, the band used unconventional techniques for themselves, including transitions between connected songs and some long, chaptered, creative compositions presenting the album themes.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Alternative/Indie Rock, Pop Punk, Punk Revival, Adult Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative Pop/Rock
Release Date: September 21st, 2004
Prior Familiarity: I was fifteen when this came out, what do you think?
What I Did While Listening: A bit of a t-shirt purge. The situation had grown a bit... untenable.
Verdict: THE pretentious pop punk rallying cry for the generation that deserved it.
Favourite Song: Is it cheating to say Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams like they're actually one song? It feels like cheating. I don't care. Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
