[391] I don't know where this one came from
Okay, I have rested off my crab belly and worked the nine hours of driving out of my limbs, so I'm fully in week off mode now. Played some video games, watched some TV, now I've got ROH on while I decide what I'm going to do for second supper. As long as I remember to take the trash out before I crash, the night is mine and I'm feelin' fine!
Had to start turning the heat on overnight. Summer is over. See you in nine months, deck lounger.

Wikipedia Sez: Blue Lines is the debut studio album by English electronic music group Massive Attack, released on 8 April 1991 by Wild Bunch and Virgin Records. The recording was led by members Grantley "Daddy G" Marshall, Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, and Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles, with co-production by Jonny Dollar. It also features contributions by singers Shara Nelson and Horace Andy. Generally regarded as the first "trip hop" album, Blue Lines blended elements of hip hop (such as breakbeats, sampling, and rapping) with dub, soul, reggae, and electronic music.
Genre: Electronic
Styles: Alternative Dance, Club/Dance, Electronica, Trip-Hop
Release Date: April 8th, 1991
Prior Familiarity: Nonexistent, though I have seen the sequel.
What I Did While Listening: Coloured pictures of owls after a very strenuous workout. I've been slacking on the ZR community run after my weirdly exhausting week and falling behind a bit, so I gotta step it up if I don't want to miss any of those sweet, sweet gold trophies.
Verdict: It's fine? I don't think I've ever wished for an album to be entirely instrumentals before, though? I love the beats here, but the lyrics and vocals are almost universally goofy as hell in a variety of different ways.
Favourite Song: Hymn of the Big Wheel
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
