re: Silence

WEEK OFF. After six exhausting days of work and nine hours of driving for a ten-minute appointment, I can finally relax and waste my life properly.

The trip yesterday was actually pretty good! I had to be up at five in the morning so we could leave while it was still dark, which sucked, and it was a cold and foggy sort of morning, but the drive went fine. Stopped for way too many road snacks and greasy breakfasts along the way and then I also ate a full pound of snow crab before we came back, so I kinda felt like garbage overnight, but I slept it off and it's a new week!

We got to the breast health clinic exactly at 10:15, which was when the appointment was, ended up waiting half an hour anyway, and then were out of there before 11, really driving home how fucking annoying it is that we have to travel so far for these services. Why does anyone live up here, christ.

It was good news, though! The surgeon was very confident that he got all of the tumour, even if he was shocked by how massive (his word) it was when he got in there (just under 7cm), to the point where he didn't even think radiation will be necessary. Of course, he's just the surgeon, so that's not his call and they'll definitely make her get it anyway (she's already got to head back to Edmonton next Wednesday for the next consult), especially since she didn't get radiation last time and something obviously got left behind, but it's still nice to hear! Please please please let this be the end of it.

And then we met my aunts for Red Lobster and I ate a giant sea bug and then we came home and I watched wrestling until four in the morning the end!!!

17. When and For What Reasons Do You Seek Silence?

Only when I'm reading, actually. At all other times it feels like I'm wasting a sense if I don't have something playing.
