[381] I must confess, I still believe

Today was mostly for sleeping and reading and watching TV. I need to snap out of it and get some cleaning done now that the sun is setting (at nine o'clock, sob, summer is slipping away so quickly now). It's garbage/recycling day tomorrow, and I have... a LOT of cardboard boxes strewn about to deal with. New treadmill works a treat, got an excellent sweat on last night, gonna do it again later. Just realized mom's surgery will be two days before All In. Should make it easier to find an excuse to duck out of work halfway through the day, so that's cool. I'm very nervous and hopeful!

Think I'm going to have to pay for Scrivener again since I can't find my old serial number, sob. I just bought some smart light bulbs and some more nail polish! My bank accounts are so mad at me right now!!

Wikipedia Sez: ...Baby One More Time is the debut studio album by American singer Britney Spears. It was released on January 12, 1999, by Jive Records. Spears had been a child performer on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1994, and was looking to expand her career as a teen singer. After being turned away by several record companies, Spears signed with Jive for a multi-album deal in 1997. She travelled to Sweden to collaborate with producers Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, who had been writing songs with producer Denniz Pop and others, for ...Baby One More Time. Their collaboration created a pop, bubblegum pop, dance-pop, and teen pop record, with Spears later saying that she felt excited when she heard it and knew it was going to be a hit record. The album was completed in June 1998.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Contemporary Pop/Rock, Dance-Pop, Teen Pop, Adult Contemporary

Release Date: January 12th, 1999. The day before Hae Min Lee was murdered, hmm, interesting.

Prior Familiarity: I've heard the first two songs about eight million times, obviously, which I guess makes up for the fact that I have definitely never heard any of the other ones before in my life.

What I Did While Listening: Assembled my new treadmill!! Still one of those little cheapo models, but with some light incline options, and it folds up with a little hydraulic kickstand! Saves me a good two feet of floor space when not in use, hell yeah.

Verdict: About half of this is a solid three stars: decidedly not my thing (even at ten years old, that fry voice of hers just annoyed the hell out of me), but undeniably danceable. But it just gets worse and worse the longer it goes; by the time stuff like Thinkin' About You and E-Mail My Heart come around, it's genuinely abysmal.

Favourite Song: (You Drive Me) Crazy
