[379] jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine

WHAT A LONG WEEKEND. My sudden urge to completely revamp my living space has continued apace, with much cleaning and moving and buying shit filling my days. It's still very much a work in progress, but I'm also very excited and happy about it? I moved my bed and my desk and some shelves and set up the spare TV I've had kicking around for a while, but since the best place for it is partially blocked by my treadmill, I just keep videos of aquariums playing on it all day, it rules. Also cleaned out my closet. I still have too many socks, but the situation has improved.

And then today my new computer arrived, nearly a week early? AND the Canada Post guy rang the doorbell TWICE before starting to write up his 'we missed you' slip so I was actually able to get to the door in time! How often does that happen??? So setting that up has eaten up most of my final day off, since I've got a whole-ass Plex server to switch over and also ten years of accumulated mess spread over two old-ass desktops and like four external hard drives.

But I ALSO found a couple of hours to spend out in the sun, too. Self-care and all. Love my new patio lounger. Work in the morning. Feeling okay, even though I always wish there was more time.

Wikipedia Sez: Horses is the debut studio album by American musician Patti Smith. It was released by Arista Records on November 10, 1975. A fixture of the mid-1970s underground rock music scene in New York City, Smith signed to Arista in April 1975 and recorded Horses with her band at Electric Lady Studios that September. She enlisted former Velvet Underground member John Cale to produce the album. With Horses, Smith drew upon her backgrounds in rock music and poetry, aiming to create an album combining both forms.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: New York Punk, Punk/New Wave

Release Date: November 10th, 1975

Prior Familiarity: I actually listened to it for the first time just a few months ago, completely independently! So pretty good!

What I Did While Listening: Just lay in bed and coloured for a couple of hours, because I realized I was really tired and didn't want to do anything anymore!

Verdict: It fucks! Meandering poetry and with killer vibes, excellent stuff all around.

Favourite Song: Redondo Beach

Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I should start a new Dragon Age playthrough when my big monitor comes in.

I saw Patti Smith live while she was touring here - gosh a year or even two ago now, who even knows how time works - and she's still so good. Her voice hasn't lost richness or power at all, and between songs she told stories like we were all hanging out in her living room or something. It was great.
