re: Family History
Got a real case of the Mondays today, even if it's not Monday and even Mondays aren't really Mondays for me, anyway. Just one of those days where every little thing that could possibly go wrong insists on doing just that and I'm very tired and frustrated. Have self-soothed by just putting up Olympics live feeds on my spare monitor in lieu of doing all of the scanning I need to do. Mostly canoeing/kayaking, some fencing and surfing. I don't actually care about the summer Olympics very much (too many events, most of them lame), but they're a nice little 'halfway to the good ones' sort of ritual, and some of the events are still decent fun to watch.
Deadpool & Wolverine after work tonight. I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but hopefully it will be dumb and fun enough to snap me out of this funk.
28. What Do You Know About Your Family’s History?
Less than I could? Like, the information is out there, at least on my grandmother's side, there are books and stuff documenting the legacies of all these little Alberta farm communities that they filled up, and family trees going back a couple of hundred years or so, it's just not a particularly interesting topic to me. I knew three of my four great-grandparents, most of the immediate history has always been right here all around me, and any further than that has never felt very relevant.
My favourite Indian place actually dropped their prices? How often does that happen these days? And we got a swimmies medal! Things are looking up already!
