[350] I am nothing in the dark, and the clouds burst to show daylight

A lovely day. Didn't get an excessive amount of sleep since I accidentally stayed up well past sunrise, but it was enough and I did not recall any nightmares this time around, at least. Had soup for breakfast, watched a bit of TV (an episode of Willow and the making-of documentary for The Marvels), then spent several hours of the afternoon just reading on the deck in the sunshine. It's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow, and after such a long wait for decent weather, I am thriving.

Then mom came home with KFC and we watched a bit more TV together (an episode each of Dark Side of the Ring and Game Changer), and now the sun is finally beginning to set and I am relaxed and sated in spite of all the chores I need to get done before I hit the treadmill again tonight.

Moby-Dick: A good book, turns out!

Wikipedia Sez: A Rush of Blood to the Head is the second studio album by British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 26 August 2002 by Parlophone in the United Kingdom, and a day later by Capitol Records in the United States. The album was produced by the band and Ken Nelson, and makes greater use of the electric guitar and piano than the band's debut album, Parachutes (2000).

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Indie Rock

Release Date: August 26th, 2002

Prior Familiarity: High. It's the sound of a whole micro-generation of network television dramas.

What I Did While Listening: Laid around, simply basking as I broke in my brand new bathrobe in the wee small hours of the morning, post-run and post-shower. I've never had a proper bathrobe before! I've always just had fluffy housecoats and didn't realize what I was missing out on until this past March, when I stayed in a fancy hotel in London that had a proper towely one, and the one I got is one of those honeycomb textured ones, so it's much softer and cozier. IT BOTH ENROBES AND DRIES ME AT ONCE. THE HEIGHT OF LUXURY AND CONVENIENCE.

Verdict: I feel like we've come around as a society and decided Coldplay are deeply cringe, and while I understand the impulse, I think it just stems from HOW ubiquitous these songs were and history is going to be very kind to Chris Martin noises in the long run. It's good shit.

Favourite Song: Now as well as then, it remains The Scientist.
