re: Family Hobbies
I managed to lose my phone in my bedding this morning, which necessitated a whole-ass search when my first alarm went off, which led to me just... being awake an hour and a half early for a fun bonus round to start my day. I did some yoga and Duolingo and puzzles and the birds were very loud and it felt GREAT and MAN I wish I was capable of doing it regularly instead of just whenever the stars and fates and REM cycles all happen to perfectly align.
More fucking around in Notion today for me, I think.
19. What Hobbies Have Been Passed Down in Your Family?
Reading, I guess? That's pretty much it, we all mostly just do our own things. I do wish I'd learned to crochet while my grandmother could still do it all the time, though.
Quick TV review since I'm still super behind on my 1001 albums:
Perry Mason (2020) Season 1: It's verrrrry Surf Dracula, especially in the first half of the season, but once John Lithgow tragically gives him his surfboard, it gets more interesting, and the central case was compelling enough throughout that I never got impatient along the way. And then it kinda fell apart in the finale! I guess I get what they were going for, subverting the tropes of the original because court cases don't work that way and real life is much more nebulous and messy and unsatisfying, but... TV should at least be satisfying, right??? I kept checking how much time was left because I didn't understand how they were gonna wrap everything up by the end, and then they just didn't really bother? Reasonable doubt wins the day over conclusive proof and some things just don't go anywhere and people will believe whatever they need to believe to be happy and hopefully our hero learned a lesson about actually trusting the process, FINE, I GUESS. Tatiana Maslany owns so hard.
