[337] I'm eating junk, feeling bad

So last night was my most sleepless night in a very long time. I am back at work, if only in body. My mind and soul are decidedly... elsewhere. I have ordered Starbucks, that is how desperate I am.

Wikipedia Sez: No Sleep 'til Hammersmith is the first live album by English rock band Motörhead, released in June 1981 by Bronze Records. It peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It was followed by the release of the single "Motorhead" (backed with the non-album track "Over the Top") on 3 July, which peaked on the UK Singles Chart at number 6.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: British Metal, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Speed/Thrash Metal

Release Date: June 27th, 1981

Prior Familiarity: Okay? Not with these specific versions, but okay.

What I Did While Listening: Ran! A very exciting episode of Zombies, Run!! There was a rave!!! People died!!!!

Verdict: The first/last time I got a Motörhead album, I was fairly underwhelmed by it, and this was very much more of the same! As a live album, it really didn't seem to bring anything interesting to the table, just the same old Motörhead songs, but with a British guy telling me the titles beforehand. Went pretty well with ZR, at least. Jailbait is very much not improved with a dedication!

Favourite Song: I was going to say Shoot You in the Back, but I think that's only on the expanded edition. The Iron Horse/Born to Lose duo was neat, I guess?

Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐
Watched 04/16/24: Archer 14x05, Hill Street Blues 1x01, Queer Eye 8x03, Rome 1x08, Star Trek: Discovery 5x03, X-Men: The Animated Series 1x07
No Sleep 'til Hammersmith and the first episode of Hill Street Blues both came out in the same year, and I have come to the unavoidable conclusion that old dudes banging high schoolers was very much a Thing in 1981.

Maybe tonight I will actually sleep a bit? That would be neat.
