[325] such a muddy line between the things you want and the things you have to do

Very tired, but with just one week of work left before I'm OUTTA HERE for the rest of the month, I am determined to weather the storm with courage. The magician was very fun, and at least I'm getting my period out of the way BEFORE I'm traveling. It was a nasty -35 degree walk to work amidst the heaps of snow, but the plows are out in force to restore society, and it's supposed to start warming up again tomorrow. Work is an insane shitshow, but there are bright sides everywhere, I've got this thing!

Wikipedia Sez: Tuesday Night Music Club is the debut studio album from American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow, released on August 3, 1993. The first two singles from the album were not particularly successful. However, the album gained attention after the success of the fourth single, "All I Wanna Do", based on the Wyn Cooper poem "Fun" and co-written by David Baerwald, Bill Bottrell, Sheryl Crow, and Kevin Gilbert. The single eventually reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, propelling the album to number three on the US Billboard 200 albums chart. It has sold more than 4.5 million copies in the US as of January 2008. On the UK Albums Chart, Tuesday Night Music Club reached number 8 and is certified 2× platinum.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Adult Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, American Trad Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Contemporary Singer/Songwriter

Release Date: August 3rd, 1993

Prior Familiarity: Low, aside from that corny breakout single. I don't THINK this album's the one that caused one of the best-ever Bond themes to get bumped to the closing credits, but it was definitely the precursor to that one.

What I Did While Listening: It was a Tuesday night and the first track is called Run, Baby, Run, OBVIOUSLY I had to hit the treadmill. It was simply too perfect.

Verdict: It's a'ight! Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely in the top half of this sort of radio-friendly "I'm a POET" '90s pop rock. Even All I Wanna Do is a lot less hokey-sounding in context. I guess you just had to be there! And not four years old, like I was.
