[253] here's a pencil pad, I'm gonna spread some information

ARGH, I DID IT AGAIN. Since I was up super late last night, I slept until noon and woke up to a bunch of five-hour-old texts asking me to come into work because the other cashier is sick. And until I am all caught up on my vacation debts, I really do need as much money as I can get, so HERE I AM, I GUESS. For six hours, anyway, I still have SOME standards.

Wikipedia Sez: Inspiration Information is the third album by Shuggie Otis, who produced it and performed most of its instrumental parts. Released in 1974 on Epic Records, it reached number 181 on Billboard's Top 200 Pop Albums list, and its title track also reached number 56 on the U.S. R&B singles chart. The album was reissued in 2001 on the label Luaka Bop, receiving widespread acclaim.

Genre: R&B

Styles: Funk, Psychedelic Soul, Soul, Psychedelic/Garage

Release Date: October 1974

Prior Familiarity: I thought none, but then some of it sounded vaguely familiar in ways I couldn't place? Maybe it just sounds like that.

What I Did While Listening: Updated DW late last night! Listened to it twice in a row, even!

Verdict: It's alright. Don't really get the 'widespread acclaim' aspect, honestly, big chunks of it felt very generic and forgettable to me. And I listened to it twice! Some nice vibes, though. Liked the equal attention given to songs with lyrics and instrumentals.

Favourite Song: Sparkle City the first time around, Aht Uh Mi Hed the second.
