[237] and then while I'm away, I'll write home every day

Back to work, day two of seven! My mom and brother are heading to Vancouver for some nerdy tech convention (well, my brother is going for that, my mom is going for to chill in a hotel), so I'll have the house to myself for the weekend, which will be both nice and moderately stressful as I have to figure out a way to take care of the animals all by myself while being gone for twelve straight hours every day. Bub has gotten really finicky about eating of late, she pretty much just drops weight continuously unless you feed her small amounts of wet food every several hours, forever.

AT LEAST I WILL HAVE SOME PEACE.

Wikipedia Sez: With the Beatles is the second studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released in the United Kingdom on 22 November 1963 on Parlophone, eight months after the band's debut Please Please Me. Produced by George Martin, the album features eight original compositions (seven by Lennon–McCartney and "Don't Bother Me", George Harrison's first recorded solo composition and his first released on a Beatles album) and six covers (mostly of rock and roll and Motown R&B hits). The sessions also yielded the non-album single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" backed by "This Boy". The cover photograph was taken by the fashion photographer Robert Freeman and has since been mimicked by several music groups. A different cover was used for the Australian release of the album, which the Beatles were displeased with.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: British Invasion, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Merseybeat (lol wut), Rock & Roll, AM Pop, Early Pop/Rock

Release Date: November 22nd, 1963

Prior Familiarity: I think they spelled beetles wrong???

What I Did While Listening: Vacation hotel room vibing.

Verdict: I wish I had had to listen to this one again instead of the boring Dinosaur Jr. album. It feels weird to prefer early Beatles stuff as opposed to the more crazy acclaimed stuff, but I do, at least when it comes to just sitting down and having a li'l listen. It's just so good and listenable!

Favourite Song: All My Loving

All I want is to be at home, watching movies and eating something fried, sigh.

Man, as much as I love the Beatles' weird later shit — Abbey Road and Revolver would probably be my fave albums of theirs — their early stuff just makes me so HAPPY. It's just good, fun, pop jams, and I feel like too many people forget that that's how they started? It's such a good time, and it doesn't NEED to be more than it is.
