[235] and I was going home, I flew through the sky
I AM ALIVE AND REJUVENATED. After my first two proper nights of sleep since... June 22nd, oof, I am feeling decidedly human again, which means it's time for an update. I kept meaning to update more on my trip, but things just. kept. happening. and so I didn't and now I'm home and it was all amazing and exhausting! 8 SHOWS, 6 CITIES, 3 WEEKS, I DID IT.
There were planes and trains and automobiles, and wrestling, so much wrestling, and also I went to the movies a whole bunch and am fairly obsessed with the new Mission: Impossible. Also at one point in Regina, I was gonna go to the movies and do a double feature of Joy Ride and that QAnon movie, but I wasn't feeling great, so I just stayed in and watched all of Lasagna Cat instead? Yes, even the five-hour long sex survey results one. What even!
I think I was probably on TV a bunch because I had some really good seats, but I have not yet watched any of the shows back, because yesterday was for finally watching Secret Invasion (pretty good!), and today was for Blood & Guts and some Stardom house shows from last month and maybe catching up on Strange New Worlds now that the sun's going down. Also I really gotta do some friggin' laundry! I need to go back and rewatch the Calgary Battle of the Belts show in particular, since a fight broke out right behind me and I ended up missing the finish to Orange vs. Lance.

Wikipedia Sez: Low-Life is the third studio album by English rock band New Order, released on 13 May 1985 by Factory Records. It is considered to be among the band's strongest work, displaying the moment they completed their transformation from post-punk hold-overs to dance-rockers. The album shows New Order's increased incorporation of synthesisers and samplers, while still preserving the rock elements of their earlier work. The original Factory CD issues of the album were mastered with pre-emphasis. The songs on this album formed the basis of the band's live concert video Pumped Full of Drugs, filmed in Tokyo shortly before the album's release. The music video for "The Perfect Kiss" was directed by Jonathan Demme.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Alternative Dance, Alternative Pop/Rock, College Rock, Dance-Rock
Release Date: May 13th, 1985
Prior Familiarity: None.
What I Did While Listening: Rode the bus to Regina! Album 3 of 3. I'm so far behind on these!
Verdict: Dug it a lot! While 16 Lovers Lane was super '80s in kind of all the most forgettable ways, this was super '80s in all the ways that actually leave impressions on me.
Favourite Song: Sub-culture I think? It's been a while!
