[223] I'm not in love, but I'm open to persuasion
Fuck, that's such a good opening line for a song. I'm kinda obsessed with it.
Today I bought jeans! That was my big exciting sojourn, because I was down to exactly one non-ripped pair of jeans that still fit me and I gotta be ready to hit the dusty trail soon, but after spidertimes yesterday, nothing was going to live up, anyway. I believe I'm the first person to go all the way out on a limb to say Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a very good movie! So there!
I was so amped up afterward that I got absolutely nothing else done last night, just stayed up until six in the morning alternating between erotic thrillers and Anthony Mann westerns and I think I might just do the same thing tonight! There's just something so magical about the birdsong starting to creep in ahead of that 4am sunrise while Jimmy Stewart is all edgy and conflicted, or the most unhinged horny '90s shit is going down, you know? I love movies! I love the summertime! I love watching movies in the summertime!
We're no NYC, but it remains smoky enough for some stunning red sunsets that I am making a point of enjoying, which is a little bit dark, but that's the world we live in, so hey!

Wikipedia Sez: Joan Armatrading is the third studio album by British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading, released in 1976 by A&M Records. It was her first album to be recorded entirely in London, as her first two albums – Whatever's for Us and Back to the Night being partially recorded in France and Wales respectively in addition to London.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Singer/Songwriter
Release Date: Anywhere from July to September 1976, I'm getting conflicting reports.
Prior Familiarity: None.
What I Did While Listening: Made perogies! A nice slow pan fry, they came out perfectly.
Verdict: Not every track of this really resonated with me, but the stuff that hit hit hard. Love how timeless it sounds, this could have come out at any point in the last sixty or so years and I wouldn't have batted an eye.
Favourite Song: Either Down to Zero or Save Me.
I'm a little bit scared that I'm wasting my last week off before vacation and that I should be getting all my shit in order NOW, but hey. Fuck it. We'll do it live.
