[189] no reason, just seems so pleasing
Last late night of the month. SaaaaaaaD. Mom had made vague plans for us to all visit my grandmother for Family Day, but I think she was too discouraged by how their big haircut outing on Saturday was completely forgotten just a few minutes after it was over, poof, so we just stayed home and watched TV instead. At least she got the day off.
Took another really excellent bath. All my bones are gone!

Wikipedia Sez: Pretenders is the debut studio album by British-American band The Pretenders, released in 1979. A combination of rock and roll, punk and new wave music, this album made the band famous. The album features the singles "Stop Your Sobbing", "Kid" and "Brass in Pocket". Nick Lowe produced the Pretenders' first single, "Stop Your Sobbing", but decided not to work with them again as he thought the band was "not going anywhere". Chris Thomas took over on the subsequent recording sessions.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Contemporary Pop/Rock, New Wave, Punk/New Wave, Rock & Roll, Alternative/Indie Rock
Prior Familiarity: Higher than I thought, there were quite a few 'oh, that's this song!' moments in here.
What I Did While Listening: I've been picking Zombies, Run! back up again, so I started myself a big fancy Notion database to keep track of all the episodes I've done, because endlessly fucking around is the REAL key to fitness.
Verdict: For some reason, it took me some real effort to get into this, but not in a taste way, in a physical way? Like, unless I absolutely cranked the volume, it all just slid right off of my ears for some reason? Maybe my lizard brain needs more bass? IDK, but once I was able to start picking up what it was putting down, I really started to enjoy it. Some nice tunes, and the lyrics are genuinely funny in places!
Favourite Song: Space Invader; this was about the last album I would have expected to have a random instrumental track right in the middle and it caught me completely off guard in some really delightful ways.
It's very cold out again, but for one more day, I get to remain warm. Good night.
