[179] there's a moon in the sky, it's called the moon
Monday night. I have managed to at least mostly strip my bed, so I will need to finally change my sheets and start my laundry before I go to bed, so that's something! My late-afternoon nap was interrupted by wound drainage-related crises and some guy from Atco having to turn the gas off for ten minutes, and I'm still drinking, so I have no clue what my sleep schedule's going to look like heading into my work week, but that's still a whole 24 hours away, so fuck it!
Internet is giving me a bit of grief and fucking with my plans to finish rewatching both Wrestle Kingdom nights, but we keep hustling, yes we do.

Wikipedia Sez: The B-52's is the debut album by the Athens, Georgia-based new wave band the B-52's. The kitschy lyrics and mood, and the hook-laden harmonies helped establish a fanbase for the band, who went on to release several chart-topping singles. The album cover was designed by Tony Wright (credited as Sue Ab Surd).
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: New Wave, Punk/New Wave, Dance-Rock
Prior Familiarity: High. Been a while!
What I Did While Listening: Thought about stuff I needed to do. Made Monday Mimosas* instead!
*not actually mimosas, I don't have any champagne, they're more like fizzy screwdrivers**
**a sparkling screw????
Verdict: TIL Rock Lobster is almost seven minutes long! That is too much Rock Lobster! Anyway, this album is such a weird example of the flattening of time as it passes; it remained so relevant for so long while never really aging, since it was already a deliberate, winking throwback when it came out? It's really wild to me that it's 45 years old, since the sounds and vibes it emulates are only closer to what, 60 years old? Which is basically the same era now, so it SHOULD feel dated, and yet! This was already twenty years old when I was a kid, and I never would have guessed as much at the time. It's weird! It's fun and weird!
Favourite Song: Dance This Mess Around
Ugh, I should rotate my mattress, too, it's been long enough. Ugh.
