[178] the awful title belies the quality of this unusual comedy
A late night tonight. I am being good and working my way through night two of Wrestle Kingdom while taking lots of breaks for chores (and also backstage comments and also rewatching night one and also some movies because I'm not being THAT good I guess), and it's making for a long-but-enjoyable night! I've only got one more after this! I gotta make them count!

Wikipedia Sez: H.M.S. Fable is the third album by Liverpudlian band Shack, released in June 1999 via London Records. It was the band's first album following their reformation after the interest generated by their previous much-delayed album Waterpistol and the album by offshoot band The Strands. H.M.S. Fable was well received by the critics: among the UK music publications, the album was placed at number 2 on both the NME and Uncut critics' poll of the albums of the year for 1999, and number 5 in Select magazine.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Britpop, British Trad Rock
Prior Familiarity: Lot of deep cups lately, huh? None!
What I Did While Listening: Coloured. I had just cleaned the shower and was tiiiiiiired.
Verdict: It's much more of a generic '90s indie rock sound than I went in expecting/hoping for, so in that respect it was something of a letdown, but it was very easy to go along with, and I liked it more and more the longer it went on for. Dense enough lyrically to make good character playlist fodder, I think.
Favourite Song: Captain's Table; I want to listen to the album that it sounds like it should be from.
The latest show that I'm finally getting around to that is really straining my 'one episode a week' willpower: Barry.
