[168] into the flood again, same old trip it was back then

I survived Christmas, made it back to work, am still very tired with year-end looming, but mostly okay, so that's nice! Also it's only gonna be a five-day work week between New Year's and having to take Tuesday off for mom's final surgery consult, so that's something!

Wikipedia Sez: Dirt is the second studio album by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on September 29, 1992, through Columbia Records. Peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, the album received critical acclaim. It has since been certified five-times platinum by the RIAA making Dirt the band's highest selling album to date. It was the band's last album recorded with all four original members, as bassist Mike Starr was fired in January 1993 during the tour to support the album. The album spawned five singles: "Would?", "Them Bones", "Angry Chair", "Rooster", and "Down in a Hole", all with accompanying music videos. Dirt was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. The music video for "Would?" was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best Video from a Film, as the song was featured on the soundtrack to Cameron Crowe's 1992 film Singles.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Alternative Metal, Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Grunge, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal

Prior Familiarity: Oh goodness no. Rooster kinda rang a bit of a bell when I heard it, I guess?

What I Did While Listening: Started a load of laundry after much procrastinating, and then puttered around setting up my journal for the coming week. FRESH START INCOMING.

Verdict: I like it! Rock on, but nicely and moodily and melodically!

Favourite Song: Honestly, a lot of it kinda blurred together for me, but I enjoyed Down In a Hole, and Angry Chair almost had shades of a Bond theme hidden somewhere in it?

Hmm, haven't done a media roundup post in a while, I wonder if I could wrangle one after so long? Either way, tonight will only be for Skyfall and Dynamite and maybe some fast food chicken.
