[0101] now there's no justice, you've only yourself that you can trust in
The news is terrible, and I always feel bad for just... not engaging when that's the case? But I'd rather feel a little guilty for sticking my head in the sand and focusing on things that make me happy than feel absolutely miserable for stressing over horrible things I can't do anything about. I'm not actually ignoring any of it, I know what's going on, surely that should be enough, right?
So I ordered a burrito and started doing laundry and watched some TV and later on my mom wants to go to some screening of a stupid cartoon about the evacuation where Martin Short voices a Justin Trudeau beaver and we'll probably get A&W, and that all sounds like a pretty okay way to spend another day in the increasingly fascistic hellscape that is Earth, because borders don't really make awful stuff less awful when you get right down to it.

Wikipedia Sez: Wild Wood is the second solo studio album by Paul Weller, released in September 1993. It made it to number 2 on the UK Albums Chart, and contained three UK hits: "Wild Wood", which reached number 14 on the UK charts, "Sunflower", which reached number 16, and "Hung Up", which reached number 11.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: British Trad Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Adult Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock
Prior Familiarity: Not even a little.
What I Did While Listening: Thought about being productive, and then just sat around for a while, swaying instead! No regrets.
Verdict: This sounds like it could have come out at any point from 1968 to today, it's impossible to guess if you don't already know, and I don't even know if that level of timelessness is a compliment or not. Just look at that album cover up there! That's the vaguest shit imaginable! Good vibing music, gets you grooving along nicely without ever leaving much of a lasting impression.
Favourite Song: Can You Heal Us (Holy Man)
Think I'm gonna go get dressed and read some comics out on the deck now that the sun's gone and clouded over a bit.

No, but I still would like my niblings to head for the border anyway. Not that they're too inclined to take my advice and do so, but I think "go to school out of country, transition to a work visa, never come home for longer than Thanksgiving" is good advice.
