[0100] I'm drinking sweet champagne, got the headphones up high
Mmm, hello again. Slept away most of the day (since I was up so late, one assumes), but it's all overcast anyway, and my hair is doing fun wavy things, and I had some very good soup for lunch, so it all comes out in the wash. That reminds me, I should probably do laundry tomorrow. But not today. Today, I chill.

Wikipedia Sez: Blue is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, released on June 22, 1971, by Reprise Records. Written and produced entirely by Mitchell, it was recorded in 1971 at A&M Studios in Hollywood, California. Created just after her breakup with Graham Nash and during an intense relationship with James Taylor, Blue explores various facets of relationships from infatuation on "A Case of You" to insecurity on "This Flight Tonight". The songs feature simple accompaniments on piano, guitar and Appalachian dulcimer. The album peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart, number 9 on the Canadian RPM Albums Chart and number 15 on the Billboard 200.
Prior Familiarity: Embarrassingly low.
What I Did While Listening: Just kinda sat around with Bub because she's another one of the old hippies who ditched Spotify over Rogan (Joni, not Bub) so I had to struggle with Youtube Music to listen to it. I appreciate the sentiment and the statement both, but fuck having to keep my phone screen on and sitting through all those ads is annoying.
Verdict: It's pretty good! Dare I say, VERY good. Considering it's one of those albums included in all the 'best of all time' talks, it doesn't do a TON for me, but it's undeniably great music. Good jamz, brilliant voice. Maybe a better listening experience would have helped. Definitely a worthy pick for my hundredth album in this project. Only 901 to go!!!
