[0040] they're singing deck the halls, but it's not like christmas at all

It was -45 degrees on the walk to work today, and I am officially done with winter! I almost lasted all the way to 2022! That's gotta be some kind of record!

I keep gaining weight and feel like garbage, but I seem to have gotten it into my head that if I finish all of my Christmas chocolate by the end of the year, the slate will get wiped clean and I can start fresh. Just the rest of the giant Toblerone and a thing of Toffifee left after last night's massacre!

maybe should have stuck with the original title in the long run

Wikipedia Sez: A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector (originally released as A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records) is an album of Christmas songs, produced by Phil Spector, and originally released as Philles 4005 in 1963. Spector treated a series of mostly secular Christmas standards to his "Wall of Sound" treatment, and the selections feature the vocal performances of Spector's regular artists during this period. The album peaked at No. 13 on Billboard magazine's special, year-end, weekly Christmas Albums sales chart in December 1963.

Prior Familiarity: This thing is like... at LEAST 60% stone cold Christmas classics so obviously the baseline for recognition is pretty high.

What I Did While Listening: Downloaded comics and stayed up way too late in true Christmas spirit.

Verdict: Obviously, this came down the pipe at exactly the right time to shine, but it's good shit! Kinda feels like it's of more historical importance than a great album in its own right, but it's totally worth adding to the yearly rotation. Maybe skip the last track, where a murderer gives you warm holiday wishes?

Favourite Song: Gotta go with the Ronettes' Sleigh Ride, RINGALINGALING DING DONG DING
