[0038] holding on to misty memories
God, today was just a blur of nothing. I think a sick part of me is looking forward to going back to work just because I'm all familied out and desperately want the fresh start of a new year. NEXT week off should be a good one, where I can actually recharge my batteries instead of continuing to run them down for the holidays.
The last issue of the Millennium Trilogy comics made me cry, and then my period started, which explained some things and made me think I made the right call putting off rewatching the Craig Bond films to after Christmas.

Wikipedia Sez: Rapture is the second album by American vocalist Anita Baker, released in 1986. This became Baker's breakout album, selling over 8 million copies worldwide (of which 5 million in the US) and earning her two Grammy Awards. The album's first track, "Sweet Love", was a top 10 Billboard hit in addition to winning a Grammy Award. The music video for the track "Same Ole Love" was filmed and recorded at Baker's Keyboard Lounge.
Prior Familiarity: None, I think there's this entire range of smooth R&B from the '80s that completely passed me by and my life has just never intersected with at all.
What I Did While Listening: Just kinda vibed after a night nap. Tried to chill while the last vestiges of my week off slipped away from me.
Verdict: Quite good, but nothing I think I'd ever really seek out on my own? Beautifully sung elevator music with weird instrumentals (a lot of those synth sounds reminded me of, like, '90s video game music).
Favourite Song: Sweet Love, probably, they really put their best foot forward with this one. Although Same Ole Love was (ironically?) a nice change of pace late in a largely samey-sounding album.
